Who are we?
We are Luke and Tonya Morton; a pair of globally curious travel videographers, photographers and knowledge hungry, story telling Wayfaring Wanderers. But it didn't start out that way.
Our story is not unlike that of many restless spirited, world traveling vagabonds.
A young married couple originally from Vancouver Island on the far west coast of British Columbia, Canada. We grew tired of the day to day, live for the weekends, work comes first, go go go lifestyle.
In pursuit of the accepted view of success, we moved from Vancouver Island to Toronto Ontario and built our lives around my work and the idea that "one day" we'd have the time and money to travel. But it was killing us both. All we did was work. All we thought about was work. And if we ever did actually get to spend more than five consecutive minutes together, all we could do was sleep.
Although we had always wanted to travel the world (who doesn't?) it just never actually seemed like a real possibility.
One day, while working another "day off", it just became too much. We had a moment of clarity or perhaps we were just too tired to know better.
We decided it was time for a change, a lifestyle overhaul. We quit our jobs and walked away from a 100% financially secure future. We sold, gave away or threw out nearly everything we owned. We started looking for that dare to be great situation.
Our new focus became to learn, see and experience new things. We wanted to say "yes" to adventure. We wanted stop putting off our lives until "tomorrow" because one day, "tomorrow" would not come. It was time to break free of the box and become a part of the global community.
From this, Wayfaring Wanderers was born. A travel show as seen through the eyes of someone just like you.
We are not experts. We are globally curious and will learn as we go.
We are not wealthy. We travel cheap.
We travel light. No big bulky, expensive camera equipment inhibiting travel or getting in the way of the authentic experience.
The world is a big big place and we may never see all of it, but no one is going to say we didn't try. This site is the story of that ongoing adventure.
The road goes ever on and on down from the door where it began.....
